1. Fit good-quality locks on all external doors.
2. Fit approved window locks on all windows.
3. Fit a spy hole to see who's at the door.
4. Securely lock your garden shed(s) and fit an alarm if necessary.
5. Lock all ladders away securely.
6. Use timers to switch room lights on and off when you're away. It makes it
look as if someone is at home.
7. Install security lighting in the garden.
8. Fit an appropriate alarm system.
9. Fit an external lantern/floodlight with a movement sensor.
10. Plant thorny shrubs to deter unwanted visitors from climbing over fences.
