Reporting Crime - Which Number Do I Call ?

In emergencies: Call 999 but only when there is an emergency and where any of the following apply:-

  • There is danger to life.
  • Violence is being used or threatened.
  • A serious crime is happening or likely to occur.
  • A suspect for a serious crime is present.
  • There has been a traffic accident involving injury.
  • There is an incident involving vulnerable persons.

In all other cases please treat it as a non-emergency.

If It's A Non-Emergency:

South Nottinghamshire Division, Bassetlaw, Newark & Sherwood, Mansfield and Ashfield Division and Nottingham City Division can all be contacted on their new single contact number of 0300 300 99 99.

If you wish to report something anonymously you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

You can, of course, also call in person to your local Police station or contact your local beat officer.  Specific details for your local Police station and the beat officer who covers your area can be found on the Nottinghamshire Police website.
