Management Team Volunteers

Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Watch Association

Volunteers Required For The Management Team

The Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Watch Association (BNWA) covers the whole area of B division of the Nottinghamshire Police Force and currently has 140 schemes and 15,000 members.

There are currently 8 active members of the Management Team; Chairman, Deputy Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Web Site Administrator. Police Representative and 2 General Members.  The Team is also supported by a part time administrator who is funded on our behalf by Nottingham Police with whom we have a partnership agreement.

We continually look for new members to serve on the Management Team and would like to encourage current members of any of our Neighbourhood Watch schemes to consider applying for these posts.

The Management Team, all of whom are voluntary members, meet on the third Thursday of each month (from 7.00 pm – approx 9.00pm) at Worksop Police Station. At this meeting, which is also attended by a representative from the police force, we review the Treasurers report, policy and practices, initiate new ideas for funding/sponsorship, organise training etc.

We look to recruit members who have an active interest in their community, and its safety, and can bring new ideas to the scheme.  We are particularly interested in people who have experience and skills which would be of specific benefit to the Association.  For example experience in administration, accountancy, publicity or safety/security management would be particularly useful.  However the main requirement is enthusiasm and effort.

If you are interested in finding out about joining the Management Team please contact the Chairman via the Neighbourhood Watch Office on 01909 473875.
