Welcome to our site

There will be an Extra-ordinary General Meeting of the Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Watch Association at Retford Town Hall on Thursday 22nd November 2012 starting at 7.30pm

It is planned for the agenda to include:-

Welcome and Introductions;

Chairmans Report;

Financial Report;

Police Update;

The work of the Street Pasters;

Dissolution proposal;

Question time

The Proposal

It is the view of the management team that the time has come when the association has reached the end of its useful life. (The reasons for this will be explained at the meeting). Members are therefore asked to approve the following proposal:-

"That the BNWA be dissolved at the end of June 2013 when all memberships will have been honoured for a minimum of a full year"

In considering the proposition members should be aware that the entire Management Team will be standing down at that time.  In the meantime every effort will be made to facilitate a smooth transition to the Police Alert system etc. and to ensure that all support necessary will be given to or arranged for the future wellbeing of current member schemes.

This months tips to cut crime

1.  Cars: don't leave anything

     on display, even a plastic

     bag or a coat can tempt a

     thief. Make sure all car

     windows are closed and

     doors are locked. Park

     your car in a well-lit street.

2. Out and about: conceal

    your wallet, purse and

    mobile phone. If using

    public transport, make sure

    you know the route, use

    well-lit streets and maybe

    ask a friend to meet you

3.  Bike theft: more than half

     of a bike thefts take place

     from home. Make sure

     yours is locked away and

     not visible from the street.

     Always lock it to something

     secure when out and

     about.

4. At home: check that your

    patio doors have the locks

    needed to prevent easy

    entry. Front, back and side

    doors should all have

    mortice locks. Close and

    lock all windows when out.

5. Report crime: it's

    important the Police know

    what is going on, even if

    they can't visit

    immediately. If you report

    a crime, do ask for a

    "reference number" to

    make sure the crime is

    recorded.
