A government organisation that can pay money (compensation) to people who have been physically or mentally injured because they were the blameless victim of a violent crime.
The contact point is staffed by a police officer and a Nottinghamshire County Council Contact advisor who are able to give advice and provide information to people. Their aim is to visit around 80 villages across Bassetlaw, Newark and Sherwood every month to give a contact point for those places which do not have a permanent police station or council offices.
